A number of indoor friendlies at the Derwent Hotel are being arranged. Please support them if you can They will appear on Rink Diary.
A tour has been booked to celebrate the Club's 40th Anniversary next year. A lot of work has gone into planning a tour and we need members to commit themselves to supporting this tour now, so we can finalise the booking.
It will take place from Sunday May 16th to Thursday May 20th 2027 inclusive, in Worcester, staying at the Worcester Whitehouse Hotel with 4 games of Bowls to be arranged.
Club tours are great fun, with a few days of bowling and socialising with your friends with a coach transporting you about from place to place, all your meals cooked for you and no washing up! Marldon has toured often in past years with people still telling tales of things they did.

The cost is £549 pp sharing a twin or double room, with an £80 supplement for single room, based on a minimum take up of 30 with full coach travel to and from Marldon.
A Deposit of £50 is required now, payable to MBC with the narrative 'Tour 27'. Deposit will be returned if we have insufficient interest by the AGM on 31st October, after that date tour will be confirmed and deposits cannot be returned.

The Short Mat Bowls Season will re-commence on October 7th 2026 in the Village Hall.
Anyone is welcome to join in for a friendly social afternoon. These are friendly games open to all members, the cost is £2:50 a session.

I have told the League organiser we will put two teams in next year. I have struggled to raise a team this year so please support us next year if you can.
Tony will need a team of helpers on October 16th from 9am when the essential end of season green maintenance work. including deep tining, has been planned.

I overheard someone at the social night planning meeting asking for a bingo night. Well as far as I know we are not having one at the club, but if you are interested, I noted in the Marldon Magazine this month, that there is one in the village hall on October 16th organised by Marldon Pre-school group.

Our Annual General Meeting will take place on the above date at the Village Hall.
A number of the current committee will not be standing for re-election. if we want a functional club next season we need volunteers to take on these roles. Please consider what you could do to help the club. Lists are up in the Captains' office where you can put your name down for a post on the committee,
The club and green maintenance sessions continue every Tuesday, 9am-12am (even in Winter!)

The Marquee has now been taken down for winter, thanks to all those who helped with this task.
The Annual General Meeting of the Mid Devon Bowling League will be held at Newton Abbot B.C. on Saturday 14th NOVEMBER 2026 10am start.
This means that any Proposals that you wish to put to the AGM must be with me by
14th SEPTEMBER 2026.
The full procedure for submitting a Proposal can be found in the Rules & Constitution on the website (mid-devonbowlingleague) Section's 6 & 7. also your club should have a copy that was sent out at the beginning of the season.
Also may I ask you to let me know if you have sadly lost any members during 2026 so that I can add their names to the Obituary on the website.

£30 per person. there are still a few places available. Payment is now due, by the AGM at latest, either by BACS to club account or cash to Keith Hollings, who is at club on a Tuesday morning.

Finish about 11pm.
