Sunday 5th July at 10am (Weather permitting) Open Day.

The public are invited to come along and try their hand at outdoor bowls. The only requirement is to wear flat soled shoes, all other equipment will be provided to allow you to try out the game for yourself on our green.

We will have sessions for new Bowlers from 10am on most Sundays this Summer. Contact Gillian for further information (Telephone 07890 528041. email : email address )

President's Day - Sunday July 12th

The day you have been waiting for is only a few days away (Sunday 12th July), so get you name down in Rink Diary Teams or contact myself to reserve your place in the Fun Challenge Day. Food will be available and many other activities taking place to make this a special fun event to enjoy. If you would like the buffet lunch (£7), please indicate on Rink Diary when adding your name by typing a “F” in the buff-coloured column beside your name. If you have already entered your name, then just go into Teams and add the “F”.

All Players including those retired players who are now social members can participate in this fun day. Remember, flat shoes only allowed on the green. Retired players/social members should contact Les if they wish to participate.

Please dip into your money boxes as all profits made on the day will go to the President’s locally based Charity, Rowcroft at Home Hospice Care, Torquay.

Dress Code: Outrageous as you like, any colours but no birthday suits please! The most outrageous will receive a prize.

So, what are you waiting for, come on, get your place reserved and join in the fun.

Refreshments:

Tea and coffee available all day at £1 per cup.

Bar opens at 11:00

Food on the day:

Bacon Baps to start the day off £2.50

Buffet lunch provided by Graze in the Bay

Bean Bag Target Game with the top score winning a prize. £1 for 5 bean bags.

This year the Team Game is going to be different! The game will consist of novelty bowling challenges as shown below. Fun Team Challenges, £2 entry fee per person. All will be explained on the day.

Club and Green Maintenance

The club and green maintenance sessions continue every Tuesday, 9am-12am (even in Winter!)

-- Working party at Club - there's always something to be done and more help would be appreciated.
Call Paul or Les to confirm you will be attending. (there might be pasties and coffee available)


2026 Isle of Wight Tour

Phil Toms, from Plymouth Retired Civil Servants BC has arranged a tour to the Isle of Wight and has invited Marldon Bowlers to join them on the tour. About 18 Marldon bowlers have taken up this invitation, but there are still a few spaces left. You will need to become an associate Member of Plymouth RCS BC at a cost of £10 to cover insurance, added to the cost of the tour which takes place from August 25th to 29th 2026. Short Mat Bowls

We are in need of new players please for the Shortmat Bowls season, please contact Gordon or Carole to find out more. The Short Mat Bowls Season will re-commence in September 2026at the Village Hall. These are friendly games open to all members, the cost is £2:50 a session.

The Shortmat league in the club starts on (TBA) for the selected players.

Gordon has agreed to open the clubhouse from 2pm on dates of league games so that shortmat league players may have a practice session in the clubhouse in the afternoon, before the league game starts in the evening.

At the Paignton Club the Esplanade, Paignton. Hosted by Keith and Sue Hollings, Cost not yet agreed.
6:30 for a 7pm start. Food served 7:30
Dress code smart casual, Entertainment by Craig Ayres
Finish about 11pm.

As not everyone can go it is first come first served,
