Our Round Robin Singles has now been completed. We have played a number of friendly fixtures against local clubs and have started pairs play on Thurday mornings. See the News and Fixtures pages for details.

Peter Cartwright of Riviera FM recently interviewed Ray O'Brien, one of our bowls coaches, on the merits of taking up the sport of bowls, (preferably at Marldon Bowls Club) and you can hear the show containing the interview by following the link Riviera FM Interview. So far, Ray has shown five new bowlers how to play the game at Marldon this season, and we are hoping they will all enjoy many years at our club. More new bowlers are always welcome.

We re-opened our green on Monday June 15th. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions on the number of people who can be on the green at any one time, there is currently a telephone booking system in place and members are not allowed on the green unless they have pre-booked a session or have a scheduled game.

The Green opens to Members for pre-booked sessions on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and for Pairs on Thursdays. The last date when Play is permitted will be Saturday September 26th . The green will close for Winter after this date.

We can now allow a limited number of spectators, so if you want to come and see the green/watch the games you may. We will allow up to 30 people on the premises including players. Due to the 30 person limit no spectators are permitted at the game this Friday afternoon (18th Sept) All names & telephone numbers will be recorded on our daily attendance file. The steward will ensure social distancing takes place. The green is open daily except Tuesday (Maintenance day) from 10am to 12:30 (while games and roll ups are scheduled). Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings are the days when scheduled games are being played, on most other mornings there may be someone rolling up, although we can't guarantee this.

Further information about the rules for the roll up sessions have been sent to members by email and are posted in our (Members Only) Facebook group. Members who do not use internet have been advised by phone or post.

The Clubhouse and toilets remain closed until further notice. All events at the club including Social Events remain cancelled.

Paul & Allan would like more volunteers to help with maintenance tasks.
